ABOUT THE STRENGTH & CONDITIONING CERTIFICATION COURSE

The Track and Field Academy’s Strength & Conditioning Certification Course is a detailed course covering all aspects of strength training, and other key athletic qualities. Successful completion of the course and its evaluations grants the Track & Field Academy’s Strength & Conditioning Certification. The course is designed to meet NCAA requirements for Strength and Conditioning Coaches, but is applicable to all levels of coaching. The course provides an opportunity for Track and Field Coaches who wish to become certified in this area, or Strength and Conditioning Coaches who desire more advanced knowledge in the development of specific programs for Track and Field and Cross Country.

2:30-4:30: Energy System & Neuromuscular Physiology
4:45-5:30: Designing Warmups & Cooldowns
5:30-6:00: Training Energy Systems
6:00-6:45: Speed, Power, and Coordination Development
6:45-7:30: Dinner Break
7:30-8:30: Foundations of Strength Training
8:30-10:30: General Strength, Medicine Ball, & Plyometric Training
